REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY.

We shared with the children from School in their commemoration on Armistice Day at 10.30am in church & layed our wreaths to remember those who died in both wars.

On Sunday we joined St James Milnrow at their 9.00am Sunday Service.

This enabled Ivan to lead the Act of Rembrance at the War Memorial in the Park.

Images of both these and other events are to be found  under "photos"

----------------

On Sunday the 9th of October St Thomas' held a United Harvest Service with St James'.

Ivan our new vicar officiated.

The Day School who had a service  the prevoius Friday provided  lots of food, tinned goods and toiletries which the congregation added to .

These will be given the Booth Centre at Manchester Cathedral and Rochdale Food Bank .

It was, lovely to see the church full with both churches worshipping together.

Afterwards coffee, tea, and cakes were enjoyed by all.

Thanks to helpers

Val

 ST THOMAS' 140th Anniversary.

The 3rd of July was a very special day in St Thomas's calender, our 140th birthday.

A service was held in church led by the Reverend Morley Morgan with Canon Roger Hill delivering the sermon.

Our friends from St James' joined in in the celebration.

After the service we enjoyed sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs with plenty of tea and coffee to wash them down.

The weather was kind to us so the children had games in the churchyard and "Olly's Disco" provided music & party games.

A fantastic cake was provided with a Happy bBrthday message to St Thomas's.

Agreat day which everyone enjoyed. Many thanks to all the organisers.

Val.
