CHRISTINGLE SERVICE AND CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL.

A VERY BUSY WEEKEND ON THE 9/10th DECEMBER AT ST THOMAS"

On Saturday 9th Dec we held our first ever Christmas Tree Festival with families, organisations, charities and businesses invited to bring and decorate a tree.

It was a tremendous effort by everyone with over 30 trees down both sides of church and in the porch. A Social event accompanied  with all the usual trappings i.e. cake, gift, & craft stalls and various opportunities to win, chocolate sweets and other goodies. A Cafe with sandwiches, cakes & mince pies & all nature of drinks were available. All this was enhanced by the trees that normally grace, the church each year .

On Sunday we held our annual Christingle Service led by members of Milnrow Band. With a full church of families, Christmas Carols were sung most heartedly,  The Christingle Candles were lit and all the church lights were switched off, The congregation stood all around the church and Away in a Manger rang out. With all the trees and candles lit it was a magical moment. All the monies raised from the Christingle boxes and envelopes was for The Church of England Childrens Society

Thanks to all helpers and supporters you were brilliant .

Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year
