Sunday School Newsletter – SUMMER TERM 2019, (APRIL- JUNE.) (July to follow)

Sunday school follows the Christian Values followed by the Manchester Diocese.

We look at these for a few weeks, exploring their meanings and linking them to bible stories, poems, prayers, crafts and games.

We will begin this new term by looking at ‘compassion’ and linking this to God creating the world

Sunday 28th April – 5th May Compassion

28//4. The Children will look at the story of creation, sequence the story, and talk about why God created the world. The children will begin to create their own version of the story of creation, which will then be displayed in church.

This will involve discussion, links to bible stories, prayers, songs and crafts for both groups .

5/5. The children will look at plants and flowers and how to care for the environment. We will go into the churchyard and look at what is growing there. We will plant salad leaves etc. to use in our picnic later in the term

Sunday 12th May Compassion continued

The children will go on a mini-beast hunt around the churchyard and produce items for our craft display.

(We will now move on to the value ‘Forgiveness’ we will be looking at the story of Noah’s Ark. The Infants will look at the story ‘All Afloat on Noah’s Boat!’ the junior children will look at the book ‘Noah and the Mighty Ark.’ we will link this to the bible story.)
